The recall is probably the most sought after feature on WhatsApp that the users have long asked for. The company was testing the feature since early this year and a recent report claims that the recall feature will be available for all the users really soon.
The feature is under the beta testing and is yet to be made available for the stable builds. A tweet by WABetaInfo claims that the recall feature will be enabled remotely for WhatsApp version 2.17.30+. It is worth noting that WhatsApp has already rolled out the v2.17.30 for iOS. The users will have up to five minutes to unsend the message.
While the new WhatsApp update is already available for iPhone, the tipster isn’t sure of the exact date when the feature will be enabled for the users. What the tipster is certain about is that the rollout will happen for the version 2.17.30 and above as it would be perfect for the feature.
Many might be wondering what this feature exactly is, for them, here is the brief. Many of the messaging apps allow you to recall or unsend a message that you don’t want the recipient to read. In that case, you can quickly act and unsend that message before the recipient sees it. WhatsApp doesn’t have this feature as of now but is planning to bring it soon.
According to the tipster, the Contacts section will be making a comeback, after it was removed when the new Status feature was introduced. Besides these two, WhatsApp is planning on a few more features that will soon make to its services across devices.
WABetaInfo also reports that Status feature will be coming to WhatsApp Web and will be enriched with many of the features that its mobile phone counterpart has. A few screenshots were shared in the report to support the claim. Along with this, the app is also rumoured to add a feature called ‘Change Number’ that will allow you to notify all your contacts about your new number without any hassle and while retaining all your chats.
