Nokia is arguably still one of the most trusted brands in the mobile phone industry. It was evident from the fact that the recently announced Nokia 6 got more than a million registrations and there are still a couple of days left for its availability. While the phone is making many of the people nostalgic, it is seen beating some of the industry leaders in certain departments.
The Nokia 6 was announced by HMD Global earlier this month and it packed low to mid-range specs. It will come with Snapdragon 430 processor and 4 GB of RAM. It has a 5.5-inch FHD IPS LCD covered with Gorilla Glass 3. Running Android 7.0 Nougat, the phone will have Dolby Atmos support and a fingerprint scanner on the front.
Coming to the camera, the Nokia 6 will have a 16 MP unit on the back that supports f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. The front camera will be an 8 MP unit. A video posted by C L Gadget compares the camera of Nokia 6 with OnePlus 3T, which has a Sony IMX 298 sensor with a resolution of 16 MP, f/2.0 aperture, and PDAF. And it was seen that the camera unit on Nokia 6 outperformed OnePlus 3T at many instances.
Among the photos shown in the video, the images shot in daylight turned out to be better on Nokia 6. The images had better focus and the colour was accurate in many of the images. With the optical image stabilisation, OnePlus 3T performed better in the low light condition.
Considering the fact that Nokia 6 is a budget offering, its camera performance seems quite well in the initial impressions, despite some flaws. It is worth noting that HMD Global is about to launch a new Nokia phone on February 26.
