The most anticipated reunion of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa might happen in Star Wars: Episode 8. Although this has not been officially confirmed, fans hope for it to happen, after a new update teases the same.
The speculations of Luke and Princess Leia’s reunion were sent off rife when Vanity Fair posted pictures of major characters from The Last Jedi. One of the posters shows Mark Hamill’s character hugging late Carrie Fisher’s character.
With this revelation, rumor mills started churning of a potential reunion taking place between the twin brother and sister. At the Comic Con de Chile, Lucasfilm Story Group executive Pablo Hidalgo spilled some details about this photo. It has been reported that he said at the panel that “Luke and Leia have a scene in The Last Jedi where they would meet!” reported Star Wars News Net.
Along with this, Hidalgo also revealed more interesting scoops from the film. But later, there has been a buzz that there was some miscommunication. Hence, Hidalgo himself clarified the doubts of the fans on Twitter to Io9.

From the tweet, it is clear whether the potential reunion of Luke and Leia is happening or not in The Last Jedi. Moreover, Hidalgo also makes it clear that he was referring to how great it has been to see characters together in the photographs released.
This has made fans of Star Wars curious to find out whether really Luke and Leia will meet again after so many years in real in Star Wars: Episode 8. Keeping in mind, that Star Wars: Episode 9 will not have late Carrie Fisher there is a possibility that perhaps The Last Jedi will show them face to face for one last time.
Star Wars: Episode 8 is set to hit the theaters on Dec.15, 2017. It has been directed by Rian Johnson.
