OnePlus holds the capability to shake the international smartphone market even though it launched its first smartphone not many years ago. The company is expected to announce its next flagship quite soon and here we have some of the specifications that the phone will come with.
According to a post on Chinese social media site Weibo, OnePlus 5 will be launched with 6GB of RAM against the earlier rumours of 8GB. This is the same as the OnePlus 3 and 3T devices launched last year but is quite enough when the phone’s RAM management is adequate.
Since OnePlus positions its smartphones as the premium flagship phones, the OnePlus 5 is likely to come powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 processor. Besides this, the standard storage option is also expected to see a jump to 128GB without an option to expand it further. There is a possibility that a variant with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM can also be launched in the future.
The Weibo post also mentions the battery capacity of the upcoming phone being increased to 3600mAh. OnePlus’ Dash charging has become a benchmark for the fast charging tech and the post mentions that it will be further improved by 25 percent over the last iteration.
A few days back, India Today said to have got hold of the official images of OnePlus 5 that showed the phone from the back with vertical dual camera setup. The leak says the images to be fake and OnePlus 5 would, in fact, come with horizontal dual camera setup on the top left corner.
TrueTech also posted some alleged camera samples of the OnePlus 5 earlier this week. As per the earlier reports, the phone would feature a 23MP rear camera with OIS, zoom, and flash on the back, while the front would have a 16MP sensor for selfies.
Some of the reports say that OnePlus 5 might launch with a dual-edged curved display, hardware navigation keys, and slimmer bezels. The position of the fingerprint scanner is still not confirmed whether it will stay on the front or will be shifted to back. Also, there is no confirmation yet about the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack.
