The OnePlus 5 seems to be the hottest smartphone at this part of the year as the launch is just around the corner and a lot of leaks are pouring in already. While the specifications and other features of the phone have leaked a number of times, this is the first time that the price of the phone has leaked.
A report from True Tech provides the pricing details in Indian rupees and it also confirms that the phone will be launching in two variants. One would be with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM, while the other variant will have the rumoured 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
For the pricing, the 64GB variant will cost 32,999 INR or $513 and the higher end 128Gb variant will be priced at 37,999 INR or $591. This is significantly higher than the launch price of OnePlus 3T at $439 and $479 respectively for the similar storage variants.
When compared to the $499 price tag of the recently announced Moto Z2 Play, the price of OnePlus 5 is justified considering its high-end specifications. While the Moto Z2 Play comes powered by a mid-range Snapdragon 626 processor, the OnePlus 5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s best offering yet – Snapdragon 835.
India would be one of the first countries to receive both these phones from Lenovo and OnePlus. The international launch of the OnePlus 5 is scheduled for June 20 and the phone will be launched in India on June 22 and the sale of the phone will also start the same day in the country.
It will be an Amazon India exclusive phone and the OnePlus 5 product page on amazon.in revealed the 8GB storage variant. The detail was spotted in the source code of the webpage by the popular leaker @evleaks on Twitter.
While there was a confusion earlier of the phone will be coming with horizontally placed cameras or vertically placed ones, a new leaked image confirmed the placement to be horizontal. This gave the phone an iPhone 7 Plus-like look at least from the back.
