Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Goes Official; GTX 980 Ti Users Can Buy It First

Nvidia has announced its top of the line graphic card – GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. There had been a lot of rumours and speculations about the graphic card and a job posting on Nvidia’s LinkedIn page confirmed the name even before the launch.

AMD is gearing to launch an entire range of high-end CPU under Ryzen and Vega brands. But Nvidia is trying to reign over the GPU segment and the latest launch confirms their strategy. As a special gesture for the GTX 980 Ti users, Nvidia will give them special discount before the launch date. They will also get preference in the pre-booking queue.

The latest graphics chipset from the company is designed for the future of gaming – 4K. Most of the current generation PC hardware cannot handle 4K gaming and achieving 60 frames per second on 4K is a far-off dream. The reason for this is the high cost of the hardware and most of the games still aren’t optimised for 4K devices.

Currently, the highest end graphics processor from Nvidia is the GTX 1080 and it comes with 7.2 billion transistors. On the other hand, the newly announced GTX 1080 Ti will come with 12 billion transistors. No further details about the graphic card are available at the moment, but it is expected to come with pretty high-end specifications to easily handle 4K gaming at 60 fps.
