Moto X Pure Edition Running Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update Spotted In A Benchmark Test

Lenovo had promised at all the current generation Moto devices will receive the Nougat update by the year end, and the updates have already rolled out. Next would be the devices launched last year. Back then, Moto X series was their flagship line and was much appreciated. Last year’s Moto X Pure Edition will soon receive the latest Android update and a new leak gives a glimpse at it.

Moto X Pure Edition or Moto X Style was the flagship smartphone from the company for the year 2015. The handset had already been updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow ad has now been spotted running Android Nougat 7.1.1. Though the company didn’t give any timeframe for the update, but after this leak, it is expected to happen soon.

A GFXBench processor benchmark test result shows a Moto X Pure Edition running on the Android Nougat 7.1.1. Earlier, there was a similar spotting of the Moto X Play running Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It seems that Lenovo is considering to skip Android 7.0 update for the last year’s devices and they will be directly upgraded to the 7.1.1 version of Nougat.

Moto X Pure Edition was a great smartphone for which, the company had focused more on software optimization than on getting into the specs war. The result was a device that gave the best in class performance and user experience. The icing on the cake is regular and quick Android updates and it is now almost certain that the device will be upgraded to Android 7.1.1.

It is good to see Moto working hard to bring latest software updates even to their older devices. The update is expected to arrive sometime in early 2017, but there is still no official timeline available.
