Yes. We know that these devices haven’t been released yet. The Apple iPad Pro 2, Huawei Nexus 7 (2016) and Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 are highly anticipated tablets of the year. We may get to see the Nexus 7 this year but Apple iPad Pro 2 and Samsung Tab S3 aren’t likely to be released by the end of this year. If there’s one thing that’s so niche about electronics industry – specially the smartphone and tablets industry – it’s the rumored leaked specs. Several leaks and rumors have already given us the specs these tablets are likely to come with. Given the specs and the information available, we decided to do a quick review of these tablets just to see how they fare.
iPad Pro 2 vs Nexus 7 (2016) vs Galaxy Tab S3
iPad Pro 2 is powered by the very powerful A10X processor while the Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to come with Samsung’s very own Exynos 8890 processor with 4GB RAM. On the other hand, Huawei Nexus 7 (2016) is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 CPU with 4GB RAM.
The iPad Pro 2 will run Apple’s latest iOS 10. The update iOS 10.1.1 will soon follow. The Galaxy S3 will run on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 while Nexus 7 (2016) was expected to run on the much-anticipated Andromeda OS. The Andromeda OS combines the best of Android OS and Chrome OS and is expected to be a game-changer for the new tablet. Considering the short timelines, the Nexus 7 will most likely run Android Nougat.
Display and Camera
The iPad Pro 2 will sport a True Tone display in three sizes – 12.9 inch, 9.5 inch and 10.5 inch. The Galaxy Tab S3 will sport and AMOLED display with 1536 x 2048 resolution. The Nexus 7 (2016) is also likely to come with AMOLED display. The display size is not known at this point in time.
When it comes to camera, the iPad Pro 2 is rumored to sport a 12MP primary camera and a 5MP front camera. The Galaxy Tab S3, on the other hand, will feature an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. The Nexus 7 (2016) is expected to sport a 13MP rear camera. The details of the front camera are unknown as of today.
The iPad Pro 2 battery rating remains unknown at this point in time but the Galaxy Tab S3 is rumored to be fueled by a massive 4000mAh battery. The Nexus 7 (2016) is expected to come with a battery that’s even more massive – 5100mAh!
The exact pricing of the tablets is not known. But considering that Apple wants to capture market share in the tablet segment, the price of iPad Pro 2 is going to be slightly on the lower-end. Nexus 7 (2016) will likely be priced more than the Galaxy Tab S3.
