The launch of the 2017 Google Pixel pair is quite far away, but the fact isn’t stopping all the leaks and rumours from coming into the scene. The larger of the two, which would probably be called the Google Pixel XL 2 was spotted on GFXBench and the listing reveals a few details.
Google Pixel XL 2’s most notable change, according to the listing, is its 5.6-inch sporting a 2560×1312 resolution. Going by the mentioned screen resolution, the Pixel XL 2 will come with a taller display, like the Galaxy S8 series has. If this goes to the final spec sheet, then the Google Pixel will be the next smartphone to join the 18:9 bandwagon.
Besides the screen, the leak also mentions the phone to come equipped with Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.4GHz. A RAM capacity of 4GB is mentioned along with an internal storage of 100GB, indicating towards 128GB of total capacity. The camera of the phone is mentioned to be 12MP while the front camera is an 8MP one. But the camera units are capable of capturing 4K videos.
However, the OS of the phone is mentioned to be Android 7.1.1, probably because the phone is currently being tested with the current gen Android version. Otherwise, the Pixel phone is expected to ship with the upcoming Android O version when it is launched later this year.
It is quite obvious that the specifications detailed here are just a placeholder for the time being and could be changed as the phone nears its launch date. Even though we might be looking at a prototype device, the specifications do give us an idea what the device will turn out to be.
