Some are calling it the Google Nexus 7 while others prefer to call it Google Pixel 7. But, whatever the name may be, it is almost certain that Google will be launching a 7-inch tablet with vanilla Android experience.
Evan Blass also confirmed that the device will be launched sometime soon. And the tablet will be launched with high-end specs and features. It is said to come with 4 GB of RAM along with top of the line Snapdragon 820 processor. The internal memory of the device would be 64 GB. The tablet will be the first device to come preloaded with Android Andromeda, the OS developed combining Android and Chrome OS.
HTC seems to be Google’s long-time partner as the company manufactured the last Nexus tablet and also manufactured the Pixel phones. HTC is also said to be making the upcoming 7-inch tablet. There is also a lot of confusion over the name of the tablet, whether it will be called Nexus 7 or Pixel 7. Since Google did away with the Nexus branding a while ago, there are high chances that the tablet will be called Pixel 7.
Just like any other Google-branded devices, the OS updates will be instant to this device. It would be a great leap for the Android OS if something like Andromeda OS is launched with the Pixel 7. Even if Andromeda isn’t launched with the device, the Pixel 7 will definitely be launched with the OS version that is available with Google Pixel phones. Below is a video giving a glimpse at the device.
