Apple has scheduled its annual developers’ conference to kick off tomorrow at 10 AM PDT. The WWDC 2017 will be an action-packed event and we will be seeing a number of launches besides the announcement of the iOS 11. New iPad tablets have been long rumored to be announced at the WWDC and the latest news confirms that a total of four tablets would be unveiled.
Though the WWDC is primarily for developers, this year’s conference seems to be more about hardware. Taking all the previous leaks into consideration, Apple’s WWDC 2017 will see an Amazon Echo like smart Siri Speaker, a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and the company was also rumored to update its entire MacBook lineup, which was revamped just a few months ago.
As per a French regulatory website, Apple will be launching four new tablets. The iPad tablets are listed with model numbers A1670, A1671, A1701, and A1709, and all of them run on iOS 10. Besides these tablets, the listing also mentions an Apple wireless keyboard and a few macOS devices.
If you look closely, the model numbers are in pair with two under A16xx series while the other two under the A17xx series. It could mean that there would only be two iPad models with each having two variants, maybe cellular and non-cellular ones.
And the fact that macOS devices and a wireless keyboard are mentioned, this could mean that the earlier rumor of Apple announcing a new MacBook lineup is true. We will get to know more when the conference starts tomorrow morning.
Apple is also expected to discontinue the iPad Mini tablets, indicating a focus shift on the new 10.5-inch tablets. Going by the recent rumors, the new iPad tablets will sport a new design with reduced side bezels and will come with stereo speakers. The physical Home Button will be replaced with a virtual one and a new Apple Pencil can also be seen at launch.
With that, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will also get an update with better hardware and design. iOS 11 will see its first preview at the event with a host of improvements
