Apple has started to send out invites for the 2017 edition of the Worldwide Developers Conference. The four-day event is set to begin on June 5 and will be addressed by CEO Tim Cook. The WWDC 2017 will be held at the McEnery Convention Centre in San Jose, California this time.
What you can expect from the event is the first developer preview of iOS 11. Of the host of new features the iOS 11 is expected to come with, Apple Music is the one thing that will be see a major revamp.
Apple is planning to bring at least 10 original shows by the end of this year. The app UI will be changed to better suit the video content as the company plans to come out with a plenty of it. The list includes documentaries on Drake’s music label, Cash Money Records and Clive Davis, Planet of the Apps, and Carpool Karaoke.
Another major thing happening with the iOS 11 is that the support for 32-bit apps will be dropped. Group FaceTime video calling can also be introduced with the new OS version.
If the recent reports are to be believed, the WWDC 2017 won’t be all about software. The report says that the Apple employees are currently testing a Siri speaker and is due to be unveiled at the WWDC this year.
Bloomberg published the report about the Siri speaker and said that it is under test for several months now.
The Siri speaker needs no explanation, it is just like the Amazon Echo and Google Home, but with Apple’s own personal assistant Siri.
The segment is already being occupied by the biggies and Amazon recently announced its fifth Echo device – Amazon Echo Show. It is just like any other Echo speaker but with a 7-inch screen and camera for making video calls, watching videos, and much more.
