A lot of gamers and enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for the two mighty graphics cards that are yet to be commercially available. But with all the information available about the AMD Vega architecture and the new leak about the GTX 1080 Ti, the buyers are much more excited for Vega than for the Nvidia’s offering.
Based on the various online sources, it was revealed that the 1080 Ti will include 3,328 cores wth a memory capacity of 10 GB GDDR5. A variant with 12 GB GDDR5 memory capacity is also expected. While this is a great thing about the upcoming high-end graphics card, there have been reports claiming it to be slower than its predecessor.
Hardware Unboxed noticed that the Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti will have a slower memory clock speed than the 1080 series. The clock speed of the 1080 Ti is found to be 2000 GHz against 2500 GHz of the 1080. While the graphics card is expected to be targeted at the top consumers, the leak says it to be even slower than the Titan X, when it should be faster.
On the other hand, AMD Vega 10 card will be based on an entirely new architecture and will bring a lot to the table. It would be priced similar to the 1080 or the 1080 Ti but will come with a superior architecture designed for 4K gaming. This is the reason many gamers have chosen to wait for the AMD offerings to get the best in class experience.
Though there is no exact launch date for the AMD Vega 10 available at the moment, it was reported to be released sometime in H1, 2017, according to the roadmap that AMD revealed to its investors.
