Finally, it’s official! Not even a single day could pass when we didn’t get to hear a leak about Ryzen processors. Those leaks and rumours are to be credited that we know every minute detail about the processor series. Well, we don’t need to depend upon leaks and rumours anymore as the company has made the series official today.
AMD has announced three high-end processors from the Ryzen series – Ryzen 7 1800X, Ryzen 7 1700X and Ryzen 7 1700. These three pieces of silicon are the top end processors that AMD will be offering with its newly developed architecture. As we have seen in the leaks, the Ryzen 7 1800X is way better than the Core i7-6900K processor, while the Ryzen 7 1700X gave the Intel chip a tough competition.
What makes them a lot better and more desirable is their pricing. AMD has announced the prices of these three processors starting $329 for the Ryzen 7 1700, $399 for the Ryzen 7 1700X and $499 for the Ryzen 7 1800X. Mind you, we are seeing at some of the best processors in the market and the Core i7-6900K we mentioned earlier to have been beaten by the Ryzen 7 1800X costs $1099.
This launch didn’t see all the processors in the Ryzen series being unveiled and AMD is saying to have a “hard launch” on March 2 when it will be made available globally. The three processors are up for pre-orders starting today. More than 180 PC makers and retailers will support these Ryzen processors.
The PC market is dominated by Intel and the maximum share of the total PCs shipped come powered by an Intel chip. AMD has been out of the scene for several years now as their last products didn’t do well in the market. The company seems to have invested those years in developing a new technology altogether to make their Ryzen series much more powerful than the best of Intel’s offerings while keeping the price less than half of what Intel products cost.
