That is a huge price cut for such a high-end graphics card from AMD. The Radeon Pro Duo was earlier available for $1499 and now it is available on various online stores for as low as $799, giving a massive discount of $700 off the original price.
Targeted at workstations and gaming products, the Radeon graphics card was launched in April 2016, and in the short span of time, the price has dropped significantly. The Radeon Pro Duo was considered the best graphics card in the Radeon lineup.
The discount isn’t limited to any region, the price cut is valid across North America as well as Asia-Pacific region. Though, the discount percentage might range from 31 percent to 46 percent. Besides the top end Radeon Pro Duo, the Radeon R9 Fury X has also seen a significant price cut. It is available on Amazon for $308, against the price of $650 for which it was launched.
Moreover, the Radeon Pro Duo was the first workstation class graphics card to come with HBM memory. Operating on a 4096-bit wide memory interface, each CPU comes with 4 GB HBM VRAM. The memory is clocked at 500 MHz bringing the bandwidth to 512 GB/s.
Its power comes from the dual full-fledged Fiji GPUs, packing a total of 128 compute units, each of which comprises 4096 shaders. With a total core count of 8192, the Radeon Pro Duo has the highest number of cores in any GPU.
