The hype around AMD Ryzen 7 is sky high and there is no reason why it shouldn’t be after all the series is going to save the processor market from monopoly. Time and time again the Ryzen CPUs have proven themselves to be better than the current best in the market even before they are officially launched. This time again the Ryzen 7 1700X processor beat the mighty Intel Core i7 processor by a huge margin.
A few days back, a leak showed how Ryzen 7 1800X processor, the highest end processor in the series, fairs against the Intel Core i7-6900K. The Ryzen CPU was considerably ahead of the Intel offering. This time the Ryzen 7 1700X processor has been battled against Core i7-5960X and Core i7-6900K processors and the AMD processor again proved itself as a better option before the Intel products.
For your information, both the Intel processors cost more than $1000 in the retail market and the AMD Ryzen 7 1700X processor will be priced $389 according to a leaked online listing.
AMD Ryzen 7 1700X processor has been benchmarked on Cinebench, 3DMark Physics and CPU Mark against the Intel Core i7-5960X and Core i7-6900K. In Cinebench, the Ryzen 7 1700X scored 1527 cb against 1318 cb scored by the Core i7-5960X and 1565 cb of Core i7-6900K. The Ryzen CPU is at par with the Core i7-6900K and is way better than Core i7-5960X.
On Firestrike Physics, the Ryzen 7 1700X scored 17,916 points which means that the processor is capable of giving a level of performance that was seen in processors like Intel HET segment costing above $1000. Giving a comparative look, Intel Core i7-5960X scored 14,640 and the Core i7-6900K scored 17,100 points.
The processor has also been pictured both from the front and back. Ryzen branding is clearly visible on the front, while the pin layout can be seen in the other image.
With its shrinking market share, the Ryzen lineup will give AMD the much needed to boost to make a comeback to the market. The processor market is dominated by Intel processors and the upcoming offering from AMD will change the game completely.
