‘Lower-Priced, Gaming-Optimized’ Radeon RX Vega to Launch Soon

AMD is literally on a spree of launching its CPUs and GPUs one after the other. Vega is the next big thing that we are expecting from the company and we got a glimpse at the GPU yesterday at the AMD’s FAD event.

The company showcased the Radeon RX Vega Frontier Edition, its Vega based graphics card for high-end customers. AMD has made it clear that the card has been designed to address the specialised needs of professionals including scientists, content creators, and designers. Though it is capable of, the card isn’t designed for gaming.

Being a top end professional class graphics card, the AMD Radeon RX Vega Frontier Edition will also sport a higher price tag too. The card equipped enough for any form of gaming but it’s the price that will make it unsuitable for the gamers.

You don’t need to fret as Raja Koduri, the chief architect of the Radeon Technologies Group, has confirmed that AMD will be launching a ‘lower-priced, gaming-optimized’ Radeon RX Vega graphics card really soon.

The Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card is going to empower the pioneers creating the next generation of gaming experiences, but it does beg one question: Can you game on a Radeon Vega Frontier Edition?  The answer is yes, absolutely.  But because this graphics card is optimized for professional use cases (and priced accordingly), if gaming is your primary reason for buying a GPU, I’d suggest waiting just a little while longer for the lower-priced, gaming-optimized Radeon RX Vega graphics card. You’ll be glad you did.

For the Frontier Edition, AMD has confirmed that the card will be their first Vega based card and it will be launched later in June. This date is what we have been hearing from the earlier leaks. As mentioned in Koduri’s statement, we will have to wait a bit longer to get our hands-on the gaming oriented Vega graphics card.
