Blue Bloods Season 8 has been renewed by CBS network much ahead of the season 7 finale. The new season is anticipated to premiere later this year. Meanwhile, the executive producer Kevin Wade has teased what is next for Jamie, Eddie. And who replaces David Ramsey as Mayor in Blue Bloods Season 8.
The finale of season 7 has wrapped up on an interesting note. It has seen that Danny attacks the Mexican cartel but he also pays the price for it. Mayor Poole reveals a shocking decision of his retirement from his post to Frank. And Jamie tackles the serial killer attacking the elderly.
The finale did not tease whether Jamie and Eddie will be forever together. But Wade has spilled some details about them for the new season. According to EP, “For Jamie and Eddie, I think it will be either detectives or perhaps an undercover operation” he continues,”… that we play out over a number of episodes, kind of a long sting,” reported Entertainment Weekly. This drops a hint that the officer’s pair might receive a promotion in the future season. But details about their future, as a couple, have been kept under wraps.
Meanwhile, David Ramsey’s character will be replaced by a new cast member. According to Wade, “…we will have a new mayor and be introducing a new, main character,” he also revealed that they will play probably more episodes and more stories for him based on the scope and the toll of managing a city,” as per the aforementioned source. Who will replace Ramsey’s character has been not revealed officially yet.
Blue Bloods Season 8 premiere date has been not revealed yet. Looking at the pattern of last several seasons of this series, it appears that the new season might premiere in Sep.2017. The cast for the new season has also been not officially announced.
