AMD will soon be launching their next-gen top of the line Zen CPU and everyone is too excited to see how it performs in the real world. Ahead of the launch of the CPU, AMD will showcase its high-end AM4 X370 motherboards that will be compatible with the upcoming Zen series CPU.
The motherboards will be previewed for the first time on December 13 at the New Horizon event. It is a Zen exclusive hands-on preview event that AMD had announced a few weeks back. Apart from AMD, selected few board makers will also show their Zen CPU compatible motherboards. The motherboards are said to be based on X370 chipset along with the AM4 socket to house the Zen CPU. A new AM4 compatible CPU cooler may also be showcased at the event.
Zen CPU series is expected to be launched early next year and the New Horizon series is probably the biggest media event before the mega-launch. New Horizon is a fan-focused event and the people can get their hands-on AMD’s latest tech from various companies. It will also be streamed live for those who couldn’t make it to the event. While the Zen series is already highly anticipated, the event will help the company create some buzz before they finally unveil the CPU series.
The AM4 platform will come with three chipset options, the entry-level A320 chipset, mid-range B350 chipset and high-end X370 chipset. The highest end variant will have support for overclocking the CPU & RAM. AMD’s Zen CPU series will come with three variants, the high-end SR7, mid-range SR5 and the entry-level SR3. The high-end SR7 will launch first then the SR5 and SR3 will follow soon.
